Tripadvisor - Locanda Ca' Bauta

“Impressive place to stay”

Navigating thru the streets of Venice was very frustrating to say the least and to see the this Hotel from the exterior, reminded me of a dilapidated New York city tenement, But when I stepped
into the lobby and into the spacious rooms with the tall, tall
ceilings, all my pre- conceived expectations evaporated.
"Andrea", the receptionist was extremely polite and eager to
assist with our tour of the city, directions to various restaurants-
both high end and more economical eateries. She provided
us with the exact timetables, waterbus number and bus line
number to take from the airport to the hotel, to the cruise ship
terminal and finally back to the hotel after our cruise thru the Greek isles ended. All the info she'd provided was flawless.
My wife and our four children are extremely greatful for her help.
There is a total of 6 rooms in this hotel and we stayed in the
master suite with the Jacuzzi and outdoor terrace. Our children
stayed in the junior suite and they were also delighted as we were. The breakfast was very good compared to some of the
well known hotels in the states. There were croissants, various pastries, cookies, chocolates etc., fresh brewed coffee-not instant, juices, milk, cereals and so on.
We will not hesitate to return to the Ca' Bauta on our next visit
to Venice. You can't "judge a book by its cover" is so true in this
case.

“Superbe Hotel”

“Un must !”

“Piacevolissimo anniversario a Ca' Bauta”

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Locanda Art Decco during out two day trip to Venice and couldn't have been happier with the place! The rooms were extremely well kept and the decor was cute! The especially helpful staff (Andrea!) really helped to guide us during our stay by providing excellent restaurant and day-time activity recommendations.

A lovely time!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in the last week of July, 2010. 2 rooms for 5 adults and a baby.
Location: The selling point is that there is a mini supermaket next door ...and a piazza at the end of the street ..... It is also close to San Samuelle Vaporetti stop. The hotel is 20 minutes by walk from San Marco.
Rooms: The hotel and the rooms very 'artistic' in terms of the design and the content in them. Also, the rooms were clean and just right in size (neither big nor small). The prices are reasonable (considering it is Venice !!) and Internet is free as well. The provide a very basic breakfast as well which includes a croissant, some cereal and some coffee.
Staff- The lady at the reception (Andrea) was very friendly and helped us with plan each day. Many thanks to her.

What a WONDERFUL hotel in Venice. I found this hotel recommendation in the Lonley Planet travel book and I was so happy they were able to accommodate us during our visit to Venice. Where do I begin....
First and foremost, what made this hotel so outstanding was the staff. Special mention to Andrea who warmly welcomed us to the hotel after a long travel day. When we arrived to the hotel, she took the time to explain the layout of Venice as it is an easy place to get lost. She then provided us with great restaurant recommendations as we arrived around dinner time. And lastly, Andrea and all of her colleagues made sure our 2 year old son felt very special during his first big trip. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. We will forever be grateful.
The rooms were very clean, comfortable and cozy. They were kind enough to upgrade us during our visit which was also greatly appreciated. The computer in the room with complimentary wireless internet was a great touch as well. Our son LOVED this feature as he was able to play his games on the Nick Jr. site. The breakfast was very nice every morning. The location of the hotel is ideal. It is a short walk to San Marco Plaza, the Rialto Bridge area so much more. Great shopping and many good restaurants close by.
I know that my husband and I will definitely be returning to Venice one day and I am sure our son will be as well after how well he was treated. When we do come back, we know that there will be only one place to stay and that will be the Locanda Art Deco hotel.
Good value for money as well. Go for it. If I were to return to Venice, I would have no problems staying in this place again.

We stayed here for 3 nights for our Honeymoon in April. Andrea at reception was very helpful with lots of information and local knowledge. Breakfast is served from 8am to 9.30am. There are only 10 rooms in this 3 level building so it is very quiet. We stayed on the 2nd floor and had a view over the little alley way. It is 10 meters from a busy square with lots of restaurants. Right opposite the front door is a little shop with wine and food. It is a 5 minute walk to either the Rialto bridge or St Mark's Square, or 2 minutes to the Accademia Bridge. There is a computer with internet free of charge in each room so that was nice. The hotel has links with the only lady Gondolier in Venice so we used her to take us for a gondola ride. She charges 10 Euros more but goes for a full 1 hour ride whereas the men who stand by the bridges only go for 35 minutes. Plus she provides a bottle of local sparkling wine and we took our own punnet of strawberries for our ride.
All the furniture in the room was very ornate and matched the decor of the hotel.

We stayed for 7 days at Residence Art Deco no 3 apartment 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. Paola help us choose the apartment. The breakfast served by Gala is a welcome treat every morning. Our clean sheets and towels everyday is a welcome treat too. It is like being in the your own apartment and gets the best service. The Locanda Staff Andrea who guided us and pick us up at the Saint Angelo station was so kind and helpful. Samuel who we bothered every evening for our next day adventure was very helpful and patient from locating a department store supermarket and a protestant church in Venice for sunday service. We are grateful for the help and will recommend the apartment to our friends and will surely use the aparmten again when we return to Venice

We went to Venice as a special birthday treat and saw the Art Deco on Tripadvisor. We booked a loft apartment and stayed in number 4 on the top floor.
Firstly, the location is wonderful. It is in the San Marco district but not so near St Mark's Square that it is heaving with tourists 24/7. The nearby Campo Santo Stefano is a lovely big square and it is a short walk to the Accademia bridge, St Mark's, the Rialto and several vaporetto stops. It was easy to reach via the Alilaguna Linea Arancia (Orange Line) which we pre-booked. The Sant'Angelo stop is very near the residence. Yes, while in the apartment you can hear the hubbub on the streets and campos nearby but that's Venice for you.
On arrival we went to the nearby Locanda Art Deco which is owned by the same people and were met by the wonderful Andrea who is such a helpful and friendly lady. She gave up heaps of hints and tips on what to see and do, places to eat and travel directions. We went to see her several times and she is a real bonus to the place.
The apartment is large and well appointed. The lack of a lift (elevator) is a nuisance on the first and last days when you have to lug your bags up and down. The bathroom of number 4 would most definitely benefit from the shower being wall mounted and having a shower curtain. It was good to have the bath though and we used it several times.
We liked having our breakfast delivered by Gala every morning - a quick phone call and she would appear with a tray of fresh hot coffee, orange juice and bakery items with lots of spreads etc.
The bed is comfy and it is great to have free Wi-Fi and use of a computer. It was disappointing that the DVD was not working as we would really have liked to have watched the history DVD that Andrea gave us.
We went out with Alex, the only female gondolier in Venice. Andrea arranged a package with a bottle of prosecco and then dinner at Ribot which is also owned by the Art Deco owners. If we're honest, we would be less gushing about Alex than previous reviewers. Maybe she was having a quiet day. It was good to see the canals from the water though and the meal at Ribot was really good. It was just a little sad that we were the only people there.
We would most definitely return to the Art Deco. I can;t give it 5 stars as it is not a 5 star place (no lift, no proper shower etc etc). But, that really didn't seem to matter when we there. It was a great place to stay and I would highly recomment it
